Phillip "Cloudpiler" Landis

History:

From reddit.com

Their narrative is that a Native American people were inspired to sojourn to Utah to deliver their records to the LDS church. They met Brigham Young, who supposedly said "we have not wherewith to translate these records." Over a hundred years later, they claim to have also met with Gordon B. Hinkley, who supposedly said "We have no way of translating these things. No one speaks this language anymore." Tired of the LDS leadership's inability to translate the records, they deciphered the language through similarities with their modern language, and translated it themselves.

The Mentinah Archives are the brainchild of Phillip "Cloudpiler" Landis, supposed translator of the records. He founded his religion in 2002 as "Numi'pu Tsu-Pehli Chopunish" before renaming it "The Nemenhah Indigenous Traditional Organization." The Nemenhah promote alternative medicine. They are most newsworthy for a case in which a Judge ordered the mother of a 13 year old with Hodgkin's Lymphoma to allow him to undergo Chemo therapy, despite Nemenhah teachings.
One visitor reports that the Nemenhah tried to sell his sister shares in a goldmine sealed off by Brigham Young himself to fund the Church in the end times.

The Nemenhah seem to have distanced themselves from their original scam, and Mormonism in general. The Mentinah Archives have been renamed "Ayahtkuhyaht Nemenhah" and the Nemenhah website no longer makes any mention of the Book of Mormon, Brigham Young nor Gordon B. Hinkley.

Lies:

An Inquiry:

I know Phillip Landis served time in jail.  I have asked him about that.  He said that it was on account of his growing medicinal plants that were considered illegal.  He has since had the felony completely expunged from his record, as he was later found innocent due to him being a Naturopath.

His record was not expunged. You can review the Montana Supreme Court case that reviewed & rejected his appeal of the District Court conviction. By reviewing the case, it is obvious that he was not growing medicinal plants which caused his guilty judgement.

His felony conviction was because he defrauded some people that he was teaching to grow Rieshi Mushrooms. He was supposed to pay the group of people from Libby, Montana for wild mushrooms. He claims that he never received them. He was supposed to deliver mushroom spore logs on a specific date. He didn't show up and initially claimed that he had been in an automobile accident - there was no accident. Landis told John Kunz he had "staged the truck wreck and that there never was a truck wreck. (perspective, p. 8)

Landis holds no undergraduate degree, yet he testified at trial that he is a "naturopathic doctor in the state of Idaho." (Tr. at 517.) Landis admitted on cross-examination that he is not licensed in the state of Idaho, or anywhere. He testified that his "doctoral" degree was obtained via a correspondence course over the course of "about a year" from the Herbal Healer Academy, out of Mount View, Arkansas.
At trial, Landis stipulated that he had not been in an automobile accident. However, he testified that he had never told anyone he had been in an automobile accident. (perspective, p 9)

The evidence adduced at trial established that Landis made numerous false statements in the promotion of his business. In fact, James Myers testified in the State's case-in-chief that, as it turned out when the facts were known, Landis's false statements began at the first promotional meeting in Libby in October 1997. (Tr. at 418.) According to Myers' testimony, Landis claimed that his training, offered at a cost of $3600, would include two video seminars, and two hands-on seminars. Id. From the first promotional meeting, Landis promised the training fee included "having a representative of the company in your back pocket forever." Id. These were false statements made for the purpose of promoting Landis's mushroom marketing scheme. (perspective, p 23)

My mother died because she followed his healing advice instead of receiving medical treatment.

Here is a copy of an email I sent the chief. cloudpiler@nemenhah.org

Phil Landis (AKA Cloudpiler),

Thanks to all the publicity you’re receiving from this Daniel Hauser case, I finally caught up to you. I’m sure you’ve wanted to know how things ended up with my mother, Richelle, your neighbor at Parks Place, Hideaway Valley, UT.

If your memory needs refreshed, she had uterine cancer, which is 75% to 95% survivable with appropriate (medical) treatment.

However, you advised her to use your alternative healing methods, which she did.

As you were aware, she became sicker and sicker, as she continued to do what you advised her to do. When I came to visit her, you would disappear.

When she became so sick that she needed 24 hour care, my wife and I brought her to our home in Idaho. Here, we cared for her and loved her until she died.

Then, I saw your mugshot on the local TV news, convicted of fraud.

Now, I see you’re using religion to cover your multi-level marketing scam to distribute the same healing methods that lead to my mother’s death.

To top it off, I understand you claim to have discovered and translated some ancient plates which prove you’re the chief of some lost tribe of Native Americans!

Do you have any idea how ridiculous that is? Sadly, there are people who innocently fall for your deceit. Like my mom did.

I wonder how many other people have died because of what you do.

Does it bother you?

Here’s something you should know: My wife and my dad both had cancer at the same time as my mother. Weird, huh. The thing is, my wife and my dad are still here. Cured by surgery. Perfectly healthy now.

I miss my mom, and every time I think of her slow, painful, rotting, stinking death my heart breaks all over again.

You are not only a fraud, chief, you’re a killer.

I’m going to post a copy of this letter to the blogs that come up on the first search page when your name is googled.

This is similar to what happened to a First nations woman on Haida Gwaii whom became involved with Erick Gonzalez.

She was convinced as others were by Gonzalez to take amanita mushroom as a medicine and peyote. She was  looking for healing. She became devoted to his way , gifting him and following his instructions. He had women like her gather , dry and stock pile amanita for him. He called it " working with the medicines" part of his training to prepare you to be a medicine carrier.

She even accessed funding for him from her local funders. After 4 years or more she became very ill and reached out to an Haida elder for Haida medicine but the elder said it was too late she was already taking Erick's medicines.

When she was dying ,a woman by her bedside reported that the woman dying announced :

Stop the prayers, stop the fires and stop the medicines

She is referring to the 9 fires training where Erick has his female participants taking these powerful and some highly toxic plants as part of his training.
This woman had  stomach issues in her sickness, she was seeking healing. Why would someone who calls themselves a healer administer a poisonous mushroom to heal internal disease?
When she died she rapidly turned black. This is cyanosis, poisoning.
Her family believes she would have lived longer if she did not get involved with Erick Gonzalez. Other women have suffered too from his ways.
People should know!!!!!!!!!!
