THE VALUE OF ONE MEMBER
Ten little members standing in a line.
One disliked the president
Then there were nine.
Nine ambitious members
offered to work late.
One forgot her promise;
then there were eight.
Eight creative members had ideas
good as heaven.
One lost enthusiasm,
then there were seven.
Seven loyal members got into a fix
They quarreled over programs,
and then there were six.
Six members remained with
spirit and drive.
One moved away,
then there were five.
Five steadfast members
wished there were more.
One became indifferent,
then there were four.
Four cheerful members
who never disagree -
Till one complained of meetings,
then there were three.
Three eager members!
What do they do?
One got discouraged
then there were two.
Two lonely members
our rhyme is nearly done
One joined the bridge club,
then there was one.
One faithful member was feeling
rather blue.
Met with a neighbor,
then there were two.
Two earnest members each
enrolled one more.
Doubling their number,
then there were four.
Four determined members
just couldn't wait,
Till each won another,
and then there were eight!
Eight excited members
signed up 8 more.
In another six verses, there'll be
a thousand twenty four!!!

What was it that made us friends in the long ago when we first met?
Well, I think I know. . .
The best in me and the best in you
Hailed each other because they knew
That ages and ages before life began
Our being friends was part of God's Plan.

Oh Lord, My God
Oh Lord, my God,
I come to Thee
With contrite heart,
On bended knee.
Please take my heart--
My all is Thine.
I'll do Thy will
And give up mine.
Please give me strength
That I may be
Worthy to always live with Thee.

To My Friend
This is not for any special reason.
I say this "just because."
I noticed that a certain friend needed a thank you.
For all the sweet things she does.
I think you're special and I never want to lose you.
I glad you're my best friend.
I know I never could have made it without you.
You're the greatest: Where would I be without you?
Because you stood by me
Through the hard times.
And I cried on you
Through the sad times.
We can make it through
Because we two are friends.
Just look at all the ups and downs we've seen together.
Yep, we've been through it all.
You can rely on me in any kind of weather.
I'll catch you if you fall.
I know you're special and I never want to lose you.
I'm glad you're my best friend.
The way you've helped me is the way I want to help you.
You're the greatest: Who would I be without you?
So I will stand by you
Through the hard times.
You can cry on me
Through the sad times.
We can make it through
Because we two are friends.
Yeah, if you want to we can make it through
Because we two are friends.
